Everyone who volunteers at Equi Star, Inc. is appreciated for their time, dedication, and kindness. Some individuals volunteer continually throughout the year, while others fill a need in one day. If you are interested in volunteering, the following are just some of the opportunities available.
Sidewalkers walk beside riders, providing them with both physical and moral support. Sidewalkers act as protectors and cheerleaders and serve as the rider's escort from the time they arrive until the time they leave. To volunteer as a sidewalker, you must be age 14 or older and able to walk and occasionally jog in either arena for up to one hour.
Horse handlers have primary control of the horse before, during, and after class. They make the ride as safe as possible for the rider and as pleasant as possible for the horse. To volunteer as a horse handler, you must be age 14 or older and able to walk and occasionally jog in either arena for up to one hour.
Handy at swinging a hammer? Brushing on paint? Stacking hay? There is always a need for extra hands. Often, this work is done as a one-stop volunteering venture and is a great way to put in service hours without an ongoing commitment.
Much of our growth is possible thanks to the generosity of our donors. Join our fundraising team or share an idea that worked for you or your group. Better yet, come to one of our events and support the cause!
Does your group want or need to do community service? Equi Star Inc. partners with Boy Scout troops, Girl Scout troops, church youth groups, and local 4-H clubs. If your group has a service requirement, contact us to see how we can help you fulfill it!
Equi Star, Inc. has various activities and events during the busy summer months that require coordinated manpower. We are always in the hunt for volunteers to help plan, set up, and staff events so that they run smoothly. An extra set of hands can go a long way. This is another great one-time opportunity to do a good thing.
Volunteer training is done on an as-needed basis. If you're interested in volunteering, please let us know! You'll need to download our Volunteer Registration Form, which is located on our forms page. Fill it out and send it in, and we'll be in touch with a training date and time.
